About
Rigging Guru Sailing Team isn't a club program. It's something new. The idea was born in 2023 and materialized in 2026 as Rigging Guru Sailing Team. Privately run, athlete-first, and built around a simple idea: put the money back into the program and build something that actually fits the sailor.
The Coach
Head Coach & Founder
Marek Beylich has spent his life in and around high-performance sailing. His competitive background spans ILCA, 29er, 49er, F18, and Nacra 17, including training alongside the Canadian national ILCA Team and competing at the Radial Youth Worlds in 2019 and the Miami Hempel World Cup in 2020.
Alongside his own racing, Marek has been coaching at the highest levels of the sport. He coached F18 Americas in San Francisco, qualified two Nacra 15 teams for the US Youth Development Team, coached collegiate sailing, and has been running his ILCA program since 2023. In 2024 he added the Canadian Soling Championship title while continuing to coach full-time.
His business, Rigging Guru, has been operating since 2019 with one goal: getting sailors the boats, parts, and knowledge they need to compete.
The Program
Being privately run changes everything.
Decisions are made for athletes, not committees. Revenue goes back into the program in the form of better support, better logistics, and better access. The structure is fluid by design. When it makes sense to split into development and competition groups, we do. When a sailor needs more individual attention or a different event calendar, we make it work. The program fits around the athlete.
We are one of the few teams offering dedicated support across the full ILCA range, from entry-level ILCA 4 through to ILCA 7, and we are building the infrastructure to grow alongside our sailors.
Technology is part of how we coach. Data tracking, video analysis, and new tools are used at every session to make progress visible and accelerate learning.

The Culture
When you join Rigging Guru Sailing Team, you are not signing up for sessions. You are joining a team, and that means something here.
Bike rides, team dinners, golf, time spent together off the water. The bonds built through shared competition and shared effort are a core part of what this program is about.
Regattas across North America. Year-round, wherever the racing takes us.
No excuses. No shortcuts. Always improving.
